Imprinted is a performance piece that holds connections to many parts of my transition as a transmasculine individual. There is the relief print itself that depicts an orchid emerging from the mars or male symbol. This dicotomy of masculinity and feminity between the symbol and the flower are an obvious pairing within the form, but the nod to the uterus is also shown in the form. The use of this design as a tattoo stencil means many things in the context of the performance. Branding myself, I am labeling myself with this as a permanent part of my identity and self. Embracing my transition and the beauty that I see with it.
